Photo Essay

Leonardo's Pizza of Millhopper located in Gainesville, Florida has been in business since 1979. With another location in Gainesville and some others elsewhere around the country, it was one of the first to begin selling pizza-by-the-slice. What really makes Leonardo's special is the people. The workers are an ecclectic mix. Being at Leonardo's is like walking onto a movie set. It's a b-list movie waiting to happen.

Chuck Davis, 20, from a small farm outside of Gainesville, Fl is a current kitchen employee at Leonardo's. He strums away on his banjo during one of his smoke breaks.
Davis says he wants a simple life away from civilization where he can play his music and live freely.

I played with the color on all these by "inverting" the color to give them an eery feel. The last one was taken from inside a car, so you are seeing the reflection of the camera from the windshield. Also notice the shadows present in the second one, I really like the contrast there.

My model bailed on me so I had to get creative, and work with what I had. I edited the last one by inverting the colors. It's the only one that has been edited.

Construction Turns Classy Neighborhood Trashy

Garbage is randomly strewn about, thanks to construction, at the three town-house complexes behind the outlet mall off of SR-16 in Saint Augustine, FL.

The neighborhood was not trash laden until construction began in October.

Overflowing with garbage, the dumpster is now ill equipped to hold the neighborhood trash.

Self Portrait

The pictures below are a metaphor for my life at the moment as I figure out my post grad plans. I purposely created a contrast in the lighting to elude to an optimistic outlook to what is behind the door. Since these were set up, everything in the composition has some type of meaning to it. Interpret it how you wish.

Holly Foster, 22, is a student at the Selznick School of Film Preservation in Rochester, NY. This picture, taken at an antique store in Saint Augustine, captures her love of all things aged as well as her passion for film in the form of a camera from the 1930s.

Saint Augustine's First United Methodist Church held a kid's event October 13. Children participated in arts and crafts activities, all led by Raggedy Anne.

Extra:
As the rest of the kids trailed inside, this little boy was quite comfortable among the pumpkins.
